After watching the Flickr Calendr 2007 video, I was suprised. A collection of pictures from hundreds of different people spoke so many words.
There were images of children from different countries, portraits of couples, protests, landscapes, etc. What was really interesting is the comments left on the video. Flickr actually contacted the members and infomed them of the video and let them know if their photo was included. The comments were overwhelmingly positive, and it was a creative way to organize a community of Flickr members and show how different they are.
Did you notice that the months of September, October, November and December had the final "e" removed? I thought that was a unique touch.

I enjoyed the video as well. At first I didn't think I would, but the story that was being told was very profound. I couldn't help but like it. The missing "e" was a great touch.
I thought the photos were great. Even though I didn't personally know any of those people, I enjoyed seeing the photos. Each one is like a little short story-- its like a mini-slice of someone's life.
I did notice the "e" was missing from the ending months. That was clever. As well as making the last letter of each word the different color. It helped keep some unity in a project that was really a bunch of random images.
I think the only way they could have made it any better is if they actually chose a theme for each month & then picked newly added photos that matched it. I think something like that would have had a more emotional impact on someone looking at stranger's photos.
